Raven Writer
Privacy Policy
Effective July 18, 2026
The Short Version
Raven Writer collects no personal data whatsoever. The app does not request the internet permission, has no servers, no accounts, no analytics, and no ads. Everything you write, plan, and design stays on your device.
Data Storage
Everything you create — your books and manuscripts, chapters and book structure, Book Info and edition metadata, author and pen-name profiles, Story Workshop planning records (Characters, Places, and custom categories with their attributes and notes), and your Reader progress — is stored locally in the app's private storage on your device. It is never transmitted to us or to anyone else.
Images you import — such as pictures attached to planning records or used in your book's design — are stored inside the relevant project or planning data on your device, alongside the work they belong to.
Exporting Your Work
Your work leaves the app only when you deliberately export it. Raven Writer can write a portable .rvn project file, a PDF, or an EPUB, and each is saved to a location you choose through the Android system document picker. You are in full control of any file you create, and where it goes.
Story Workshop planning records are private working material and are excluded from publication exports (PDF and EPUB), so notes and planning never ship inside a published book.
No Internet Access
Raven Writer's Android manifest declares no internet permission by design. The app cannot connect to the network, so your writing and planning cannot be uploaded, synced, or shared automatically. There is no cloud, and nothing to sign in to.
Children
Raven Writer does not collect data from anyone, including children.
